Empowering Young Leaders: A Sunny Day of Growth and Inspiration

Apto Initiatives, a community interest company, hosted a vibrant Youth Leadership and Empowerment training session last Saturday, the 17th of August. As the sun painted the sky with warm hues, a group of enthusiastic young minds gathered to explore the depths of leadership.

The Essence of Leadership

The day was dedicated to unraveling the intricacies of leadership, beginning with the fundamental concept of self-leadership. Participants delved into understanding how to lead themselves effectively before stepping into broader leadership roles. The discussion expanded to encompass 1-2-1 leadership, team leadership, organisational leadership, local, national, and international leadership.

Becoming a Leader

The young leaders-in-the-making were introduced to the essential qualities of a good leader: being a good follower, mastering self-leadership, staying present, taking responsibility, and making sound decisions. The training also shed light on the different levels of followership, from non-followers to dedicated hard followers.

A Day of Growth and Fun

Beyond the insightful discussions, the event was filled with camaraderie and fun. After the training session, participants enjoyed a delicious lunch together, followed by an energetic game of basketball.
