About Us

In recent years, inner London boroughs have seen a rise in crime which involves largely the BAME youth. Apto Initiatives endeavors to support BAME youth who have no legal status, been involved in crime, been in prison or dropped out of school. We equip young people with skills that will enable and encourage them to change at every stage of their lives.

We play an important role supporting young people reach their potential. We show them there is a way to build a better future for themselves. We tackle poverty, reduce inequality, improve economic and social well-being, address inequalities and increase young people’s participation in society. We provide and facilitate an environment within which young people can relax, have fun, feel secure, supported and valued.

What We Do

Advisory and educational support — for vulnerable BAME youth between the ages of 12-30 who have either been in prison or who are out of mainstream school education. In recent years, inner London boroughs have seen a rise in crime which involves largely the BAME youth. Apto Initiatives endeavors to support BAME youth who have been involved in crime, been in prison, or dropped out of school.

We provide workshops and training for rebuilding self-esteem and well-being, which will empower the youth to make informed decisions. Providing face-to-face youth drop-in/ outreach services including but not limited to offering practical guidance in understanding welfare and work-related issues To provide a safe space where the Youth can open up and engage in self-reflection. Facilitating dialogue to understand ways of helping to develop their work plans.

Aims and Objective

We equip young people with skills that will enable and encourage them to change at every stage of their lives. Our mission is to transform the communities in which we work, enabling more young people to truly belong, contribute and thrive.

To achieve that, we have clear, strategic aims: 

  • Increase our impact, both in terms of the number of BAME young people we work with and the difference we make in their lives.

  • Help disadvantaged, unemployed young people and adults secure employment.

  • Help disadvantaged young people and adults improve their education and training.

  • Help BAME youth set up self-employment, social enterprise, and business.
